Level One
Start Here. Find Your Place.
Every leader starts somewhere.

Level One is where you get to know Black Artist Forward, learn what we stand for, and begin finding your place within the work. You’ll get your feet wet through volunteer opportunities, meet the people behind BAF, and begin building the knowledge and experience that will carry you forward.
​
You don’t need to know everything. You just need to show up, get involved, and be willing to learn.
​
Complete Level One and you’ll be ready to represent BAF with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
Level Two
Step Up. Represent the Mission.
Level Two is our Ambassador level. Ambassadors have built a foundation with BAF and completed the training needed to take on new responsibilities. They’re ready to move beyond supporting the work and begin helping lead it.

Ambassadors may lead classes, manage volunteers, host events, support community outreach, and represent BAF in public spaces.
​
With greater responsibility comes greater access. Ambassadors receive opportunities to take on leadership roles, connect with artists and community partners, and build the experience needed to continue advancing through the Leadership Track.
​
Complete Level Two and you’ll be ready to step into the work as a trusted representative of BAF.
Level Three
Build With Us.
At Level Three, Ambassadors become Committee Members, working directly with BAF board members to help build the organization.
​
Committee Members don't just execute ideas. They help formulate them. They brainstorm solutions, develop proposals, and work together on the programs and projects that move BAF forward.
​
Committee Members meet directly with their board lead, bringing ideas and recommendations to the table before they reach the full board. Instead of spending board meetings starting from scratch, committees help turn big ideas into thoughtful proposals ready for discussion and decision-making.
​
This is where your voice begins to carry real weight.

Level Four
Help Shape What's Next.
At Level Four, Committee Members become Advisory Members and enter BAF's board-eligibility pool.
​
Advisory Members have demonstrated the commitment, reliability, knowledge, and leadership needed to help shape the future of Black Artist Forward. They work alongside our board, contribute to larger organizational conversations, and help evaluate ideas and opportunities from a broader perspective.
​
When board seats become available, candidates for our Executive Board will be selected from this group and considered through BAF's board nomination and voting process.
